THEATER Magdalena Project in Taipei
Salt
Odin Teatret, Denmark
Director/Eugenio Barba
Performed by Roberta Carreri and Jan Ferslev

Another work of full impact after The Echo of Silence, Traces in the Snow, and Andersen's Dream.

Salt is a quest of love, yet not simply the most hackneyed and common theme in theatre. It is about a woman seeking her beloved near the Mediterranean islands in reality and imagination; traveling through the realm of memory and fantasy.

The script is taken from Lettera al vento ( Letters in the Wind) in the novel Si Sta Facendo Sempre Più Tardi (It Is Getting Later and Later) by Italian author Antonio Tabucchi, a beautifully written book full of poetic images. With just two performers, Roberta Carreri and Jan Ferslev, director Eugenio Barba creates a female odyssey of mystic nature which is deeply attractive and intriguing.
